Bengalis are foodies. They love not only the mouth watering bengali traditional dishes but are eager to try out other cuisines (both Indian and foreign) as well. Here are some recpies that my family and friends love to have at our place.

Mushroom Cakes(Mushroom Tikki)
Simple Potato(Aloo )tikki's are an all time favourite. I have added Mushrooms to Potatoes and the ordinary has turned into something special.
Ingredients :
Fresh Button Mushrooms 12Oil 2-4 tbsp,as per requirementOnions,chopped 3,medium sizePotatoes,boiled and mashed 4 ,large sizeGreen chillies ,chopped 3Salt as per tasteCoriander leaves,chopped 2 tbspSemolina(Rawa/suji) 1 cup
Method :
Wash button mushrooms and put to boil in a cup of water. Boil for ten minutes and drain the water. Then in a blender blend the mushrooms.Heat a pan with oil. Add the onions and saute .When soft, add the mushrooms. When the moisture evaporates add potato and green chilli. Saute well. Add salt and finely chopped coriander leaves.Mix all well and then remove to a bowl.Heat a non stick pan or a grilled pan.Make equal sized balls out of the mix. Roll on samolina. Flatten the balls to give them the shape of tikki's.These are very soft so do handle the tikki's with care.Fry golden on both sides. When done serve with chutney or dip.
