Palong saag diye luchi(spinach poori)

Palak Poori is a type of poori in which Palak paste is mixed in the dough. This poori is green in color and so well liked by children. Every body knows about the good qualities of spinach.

Ingredients :

Wheat Flour                       1 cup
Spinach Paste                     1/2 cup
Carom Seeds                      1/4 th tsp
Salt                                     1/2 tsp
Red Chilly Powder              1 /4 th tsp
Garam Masala Powder        1/4 th tsp
Mango Powder                   1/4 th tsp
Water                                 1/4 th Cup
Oil                                      5 cups



Method :

Blanch the spinach leaves and immedietely drop into cold water to retain the green color. Then in a blender make a paste.
Take a large size mixing bowl and put all ingredients in it.
Take 1 cup wheat flour, 1/2 cup spinach paste, salt 1/2 tsp,Carom (Ajawin) seeds 1/4 th tsp, Red Chilly Powder 1/4 th tsp, 1/4 th tsp Mango Powder(Amchoor), Garam Masala Powder 1/4 th tsp. Mix all these ingredients with a spoon and knead to  a tough smooth dough.
Keep the dough aside, covered with a wet cloth for 15 minutes.
Put a large wok with 5 cups vegetable oil to heat for deep frying. The oil has to be steaming hot.
Make equal round shape balls out of the dough and flatten them with the help of a rolling pin.
Deep fry in hot oil till golden.
 Remove to a kitcken paper to remove excess oil.
Serve with curry.
