Bhai Phota Special: Flavoured Doi (Curd)

Someone said, “show me what you eat, I will tell you who you are.” Going by this hypothesis if ‘rasogolla’ and ‘misti doi’ are your favourite, then you are sure to have a sweet personality! I am sure you will agree that this theory holds true for the sweet natured and soft spoken Bengali. Misti doi is a favourite of many including those who do not belong to Bengal. Here is a variation to the traditional classic.

Ingredients: (Serves one)

Double Cream Milk – 1 cup
Jelly (flavour according to your choice) – 1-2 tbsp
 Sugar – 1 tsp
 Fresh Curd – 1tsp
 Vanilla Essence – ¼ tsp

 Method:

You have to heat milk to make it slightly warm. Mix in the jelly, sugar, essence and curd into the warm milk. Pour into a small cup or bowl and keep aside in a warm place for the curd to set. I prefer the earthen bowl for this. When the milk turns to curd, chill it in the refrigerator. You can also add fresh fruits (the same as the flavour of the jelly) to make it more interesting.

Just Joking :

A doctor is to give a speech at the local medical association dinner. He jots down notes for his speech.Unfortunately, when he stands in front of his collegues later that night,he finds that he can't read his notes. So he asks, "Is there a pharmacist in the house?"
