Diwali Special- Almond Kachori


Ingredients:

Refined flour - 1 cup
Coconut (grated) – 1 cup
Posto (poppy seed) – 1 tbsp
Green cardamom – 2 nos
Cinnamon powder – ¼ tsp
Black pepper – ¼ tsp
Ghee – 1 tsp
Almond (finely chopped) – ½ cup
Walnut (paste) – ¼ cup
Milk – 2 tbsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
Salt – ¼ tsp
Cold water – 2 tbsp
Oil - 2 ½ cups

Method:

First prepare the filling. Put grated coconut, poppy seed, green cardamom, black pepper, cinnamon powder and salt in a grinder and grind to a powder.
Heat desi ghee in a kadai, add 1 tsp flour and powder prepared in the previous step, add almond powder, walnut paste and milk, cook for 5 min.  Keep aside to cool.

For the dough: Take refined flour, 2 tbsp oil, salt and mix well. Add water gradually and knead the dough. Place it in a bowl, cover and keep for ½ hour.

Make small balls out of the dough, make a well in the middle with your thumb and put in the filling. Add adequate stuffing and cover it and shape into balls.

Heat oil in a pan and fry the balls in it. Serve as a snack.
